Victor Velarde

Victor Alexander Vizcarra Velarde is an associate architecture and landscape architecture designer, currently practicing with NBBJ. Victor’s interests lie in the connectivity between the built and natural environments, how context and place shape our living conditions, programmatic issues, and how we translate these processes to creative design innovation. Working in a variety of building typologies and scales, his work reflects a simple yet elegant design approach.

Victor’s drive and design excellence has allowed him to work at multiple global design firms. During that time, he worked in the design and construction stages of several national and international projects, ranging from private residences to mixed-use urban master plans.

Victor has been an active participant at the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments Departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture throughout his academic and professional career, and has instructed, co-instructed and lectured undergraduate and graduate studios, digital technology, visual studies and representation courses.

Victor received his Bachelors of Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington in 2009. From 2012-2013 he was a ScanDesign Fellow at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in Copenhagen, Denmark, and in 2013 Victor received his Master of Architecture from the University of Washington with distinction.
